My style as a therapist is to respect your strengths, helping you foster insights into making your life better.

Over the years—through my education, clinical training and personal growth—I have developed a unique and successful approach to working with a variety of issues that my clients are struggling with in their lives. I have always been interested in counseling and the process of emotional growth and development.

It is important to note that anything I may be asking my clients to do in the therapy process I have gone through myself in the form of exercises, homework, reading, talk therapy, experiential somatic therapy and energetic healing. In other words, I’m not going to ask you to do anything that I haven’t already done and tried out myself.

I am very active in my therapy approach and give out a "homework" assignment at the end of each session. This keeps the momentum of your work moving and this is where you will gain the most insights into yourself. Many clients tell me that they have not had a therapist who was as engaged in the process as I am. What this means is that I’m not one to just sit back and nod my head as you talk. I will be asking questions, giving you feedback as to what I’m hearing you say, and then the two of us will work together to see what needs to happen so you may change, heal and grow. My job satisfaction comes from seeing the personal growth that you will achieve through the therapy process. In addition to traditional counseling techniques, if it works with the client needs, I will incorporate hypnosis or meditation techniques for issues ranging from trauma and PTSD to anxiety and behavior modification.

Often, it takes someone a while before they call to set up an appointment. So I advise: don't put it off and just call to see if my practice is a right fit for you. I have expertise in relationship issues, depression, recovery from sexual abuse, life transitions, codependency, anxiety, self-esteem and men's anger, to name a few. I also work with parents and siblings who have lost a family member to suicide.

Your issues are unique and we will work together, developing a therapeutic approach that will meet your needs so you can live the life you dream about. Specialty areas include clinical training in post traumatic stress, addictions work and chronic mental illness such as bipolar disorder. I am also certified in clinical hypnosis.
Know that you can work through your issues and begin to feel more authentically yourself again.
